About Carole Adams

“I am doing permaculture on my small property growing fruits, berries and flowers, herbs and veggies. I have been an animal lover since I was a child and now share the farm with 5 rescue cats, 4 sheep, 3 Roosters and 15 hens.”

“I started spinning in 1983.  From there I grew a variety of dye plants and started natural dyeing. I also dye wool with chemical dyes. I raised Angora Rabbits for some years before getting a flock of Sheep.  Got a guard LLama and an Angora Goat. Taught spinning for 4 years at Hampshire College, then took a 4 year weaving course at Hill Institute where I learned how to Hook Rugs.  Putting my joy of making things to use, I discovered making salves and many herbal products which were quickly added to the many woolen and other items I sell.  Most of which are made by hand by me or other local merchants.”

“I love sharing all the things I have learned over the years and am often asked to speak about my small flock and stories from the farm.  I teach Spinning on the wheel and drop spindle spinning and Rug Hooking with yarn at Sheep and Shawl and arrangements can be made for you to  come to the farm to learn either of these skills.   Classes at the farm of 3 or more will be given a discount.”
